Music Ministry

Here at St. John's we have been blessed to be able to have a vibrant Music Ministry.  The ministry is an important part of the church, and is a reminder of the stewards we need to be to preserve church music, and music in general.  Our musicians are committed to preserving church music, and preserving Anglican traditional music as well.  St. John's remains a beacon and a hub for producing excellent music in every aspect of worship life and worship arts.  We are fortunate to have many aspects of this ministry including a choir which leads or Evensong services, and many talented musicians who lead worship on guitar and organ.

Our Choir

St. John's Choir is fairly young, but our church's history of choir and music is vast.  Our choir director, Kristopher Gasch, started a grassroots group interested in singing and liturgical music.  The music we offer is based in a strong Anglican liturgical background.  All are welcome to join regardless of familiarity with Anglican music, or music training.  We mainly lead Evensong services, which are meditative, close of day services.  The choir will also sing occasionally during the church year for festival days and for Sunday morning Eucharist.  Check out our events page for more information.  All are welcome in our choir and at our Evensong and Compline services.  If you would like more information on joining, please contact Kristopher directly at kristopher@feyprinting.com.

Our Organ

Our organ is one of our most prized elements in our church.  The instrument is a favorite in the area of many who play it, especially our own organists.  Our parishioners and staff are very proud to have such a mighty instrument that leads us in worship, as well as used for recitals.  The instrument was installed in 1994 under the supervision of Fr. Dunlap.  The instrument remains was intended to not only enhance worship, but to provide an instrument for the community.  Fr. Dunlap would be happy to know that the organ continues to shine in the community through the church's many outreach initiatives and concerts.  Below you will find full specifications for our instrument including a stoplist.  More background information can be found under "About Us" under the "History" tab.
